Honeymooners
Dear Etali team,
Kiran and I were
guests at the Etali
Lodge during the
beginning of June
2007.
We were there on our
honeymoon and would
like to let you know
how much we enjoyed
our stay.
For our honeymoon we
had also visited
Victoria Falls Hotel
and The Oberoi in
Mauritius. Our time
in the Etali Lodge
was easily the best
part of our holiday.
We had not expected
this kind of
standard of service
and luxury.
Our room was nothing
short of superb
(room 6); the
private decking
overlooking the
wilderness was very
nice, our own log
fire was a dream
come true and our
ensuite was the
largest bathroom we
have seen.
The
food was very nice
indeed, and always
plentiful. The chef
(always smiling)
went out of his way
to accommodate us as
vegetarians and left
us satisfied. Our
meal by oil lamps
out on the decking
in our room during
the first night was
so romantic, thank
you.
The safaris were
excellent. The
adapted 4X4, the
well informed guide
and tracker, the
wind proof ponchos
and the offer of
binoculars made this
a very comfortable,
interesting and
indeed exciting
safari. It was a bit
of a struggle waking
up at 6 in the
morning and very
cold indeed but most
definitely worth it.
The hot water
bottles in the
morning was a very
nice touch. We
managed to see most
of the game and the
guides had lovely
informative stories
to tell about all of
them.
The walking safari
was again excellent
and allowed for some
very interesting
teaching...even
Kiran who doesn't
like to walk very
much enjoyed this.
The spa and outdoor
gym offered yet
another dimension
and again was to a
very high standard.
It was a shame that
the nights were
overcast as the star
gazing would have
been "the cherry on
top of the cake".
Another point which
made this such a
nice break was that
almost everything
was inclusive and so
there was no need to
think about cost of
those extras (room
service etc).
I would recommend
the Luxury Etali
Lodge, without
reservation, to
anyone who wants an
adventure and enjoys
the finer things in
life!!

were honoured to visit
Etali Safar Lodge just
few days before the
beginning of the annual
Tourism Month. I often
hear people complain
about service and good
customer care in some of
our holiday
establishments in the
country.
But this time around, I
am the one who will say
if you need the Big Five
coupled with world class
service - come to the
Madikwe Game Reserve and
be sure to stop at Etali
Safari Lodge.
The staff:
I often hear that
pregnant woman have all
sorts of cravings -
when my wife said to me
she was craving achaar
and tomato, I said to
her now you pushing your
luck. With all the
comfort given to us here
in the bush - you want
all these funny things!!
Maybe I was too quick to
reprimand - before I
knew it a staff member
had gone to the staff
village and brought her
what she need - isn't
that good service or
should I rather say
service at its best!!
Moses - with his ever
lasting smile - "You are

might have not mentioned

you guys were all good.
I was touched by one of
the guests (a German
lady leaving in
Zimbabwe), when she
shared a tear when she
checked out. That to me
was a tear of
endorsement. She was
obviously made to feel
special and important.
To
the bosses - these
guys are good and they
love people as well as
their surroundings.

the absolute fabulous and
phenomenal time my wife and I
had at your Etali Lodge. I am
sorry I didn’t get to see you
when we were there to tell you
in person. But the entire
experience was unforgettable.
Since our return we haven’t
stopped talking about the high
level of service we received.
We were amazed at the entire
staff’s desire to delight us.
Moses, the manager, Dave our
driver and Ishmail our tracker
made the trip extra special.
Even the animals cooperated and
we got to see many and take tons
of photos.
We
have convinced some friends to
take the trip and needless to
say we have strongly recommended
Etali Lodge. As you might
imagine, we too expect to
return, but next time, with our
three children (ages 18, 21 and
24).

It was LOVELY.
Except for the friendly staff,
brilliant animal sightings and
delicious food, Joanne from the
well-ness centre was the best. We
loved her Life Style therapies and
almost missed the game drive in the
afternoon.
I can not recall all the staff names
but Moses, Sharon, David, the room
attendants, John, every body was
EXCELLENT. They left a happy
birthday note in our room and Joanne
even spoiled us with rose petals in
the bathroom and special bath-oils.
I can not express how relaxed and
spoiled we are when we return from
ETALI, the best place on earth!

are the best - friendly, helpful and simply cannot do
enough for you. John the Field Guide is incredible - his
knowledge of the bush is astounding and much can be
learnt from him. Patience, the Tracker, has the most

This has been the most memorable holiday ever and it was

A very heartfelt thanks for your great hospitality last
week-end. It was such a pleasure to discover Etali and
the Madikwe Game Reserve. We really enjoyed being with
you and Inspirational Places, and it was wonderful to
unwind in such magnificent surroundings. We were blessed
to stay at Etali, and enjoyed every minute of our visit.
We loved the Suites, their great comfort and subtle
disposition, the bathrooms inside and outside with the
gorgeously warm plunge pool... overlooking breathtaking
sunrises...
Your staff so gentle, friendly and efficient added such
charm to the whole culinary experience. Great Chef and
great fare. Exciting Spa and treatments with silken
healing hands - please thank Karl for his kind and
expert touch.
Thank you for sharing with us such bliss in the Wild
West of South Africa. We truly relished sitting high
above the waterhole, watching elephants, kudu,
wildebeests, warthogs and other game come and frolic at
your waterhole, while enjoying the panoramic views of
the hills beyond, sipping our own unusual beverages.
Above all, we appreciated your time and getting to know
you better, had such interesting conversations aimed at
re-modelling our world with innovative thoughts and the
promise of future rewarding action...
Till we meet again, in Cape Town, we hope, where we are
waiting to welcome you with open arms.
